Harvest Justice

“Don’t be misled—you cannot mock the justice of God. You will always harvest what you plant. Those who live only to satisfy their own sinful nature will harvest decay and death from that sinful nature. But those who live to please the Spirit will harvest everlasting life from the Spirit. So let’s not get tired of doing what is good. At just the right time we will reap a harvest of blessing if we don’t give up. Therefore, whenever we have the opportunity, we should do good to everyone—especially to those in the family of faith.”

‭‭Galatians‬ ‭6:7-10‬

This statement: Life isn’t fair, has always been a statement that has resonated with me. I would get told that a lot when I was a kid. I come from a family of people who pull themselves up by the boot straps and have never had anything handed to them. Life is not fair! We have all read or seen stories of people who were fair and loving, yet they died of cancer or had something else bad come their way. Life isn’t fair!

The truth is: Life isn’t fair…..but it is JUST! God is a god of justice. Justice doesn’t make everything equal to everyone across the board but justice does give everyone an equal amount of love! Life isn’t fair, some people win the birth lottery and others are born in a third world country. Life isn’t fair! God is just though! He has provided eternal life across the board! Justice says, “whatever you plant you will reap”.

My hope is that we will be a people who plant life, love, truth, grace, and mercy! My prayer is that you will take advantage of every opportunity to be just while doing good to everyone, no matter if they line up on the same side of any issue as you do! Do Justice because life isn’t fair already!

1. Who can you do good for this week?

2. How can you show justice to someone who needs justice in their life this week.

3. What are you sowing that needs to be changed this week?
